The Porcupine animal species is known for having a long life and held the record for being the longest- living rodent, until it was recently broken by the naked mole-rat. Did you know that male porcupines urinate on female porcupines prior to mating - spraying the urine at high velocities ?!? Why, why, why? (shaking 
my head) Much like the animal species, Porcupine Spirit individuals are socially progressive and can be "set" in their ways. These people enjoy being in the comfort of their home away from situations that cause them to have to defend themselves. Many Porcupines may be stick to ideas, rules, and philosophies handed down to them during their youth. They do not like change and hate to be confronted with the truth. The western Chinese influence, the Dragon, makes Porcupines feel entitled to a higher degree of respect than those around them. They must learn to balance the need for justice with their personal feelings of 
authority. Often times, Porcupine spirits feel neglected because they didn't receive what they felt they deserved.

Porcupines are strong-willed therefore they make friends and enemies easily. Genuine friends are protected by and equally protect Porcupines. To be honest, they are closer to their friends than to their blood relatives. In terms of career/profession, 
Porcupines must feel their are in control of their future. They love to create projects, art, and causes as well as experiencing freedom within their schedules. Porcupine spirits are straightforward, confident, and noble when it comes to romantic relationships. Many of them prefer partners who are more or less submissive. It's hard to tell, but they are turned off by people who do not stand up for themselves and don't fight back. Porcupines secretly enjoy a certain amount of drama in their relationship and often experience passionate, dysfunctional relationships. It's very 
important to transition into a more mature way of romance while they are young, because as I said previously ... Porcupines do not like change! So once, they get use to a certain behavior/action, they will judge you harshly for trying to rearrange their lifestyle.
